What drives me

I design for environmental
and social good

My career is shaped by my search for root causes. This led me to processes, business models, and systems beyond a mere product focus. I am driven by an understanding of the reasons for today’s major challenges: The destruction of biodiversity and climate change caused by fossil energy, mass consumption and linear business models.

I collaborate transparently

Sharing insights, developments, feelings, and status is essential for me to work in a hybrid world with team members and external partners to be fast (efficient) and achieve the desired goal (effective).

I am proactive

I believe in bottom-up leadership to foster motivation and curiosity. This allows me to steer projects with shared responsibility at eye-level, where each role can reach its highest effectiveness. This empowers individuals to make decisions based on their contextual knowledge. Proactivity includes defining next steps without waiting for someone to take responsibility.

Energy Transition
The current transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources brings with it an increasing complexity of data and information. In a decentralised grid, not only must the systems be monitored and controlled automatically and in real time. The workflows for installing and maintaining new energy systems are also changing. This requires robust digital systems. However, many energy companies are only at the beginning of this transition.

Being part of the energy team at Futurice, I looked specifically at electric heating and the HVAC market.

Improving processes: How might we improve processes by increased digital transparency, and mandates for decision-making?

At Futurice, we have analysed the processes in a large heavy machinery company in detail.

Circular Business
The essence of tomorrow's business models no longer lies in striving for more profit through more product sales. Instead, companies that create new value streams through services that extend the service life of existing products will be successful. Reuse platforms, repair options or product as as service are some of the examples.
In all those use cases data, AI and digital processes play a key role to monitor the 'material banks'. They enable predictive maintenance, and also the digital product passport and supply chain transparency.

I took a deep dive into Circular Society at the Hans Sauer Foundation over a period of 3 years. In 2021 I started to give a guest lecture about Circular Design to master students of the LMU in Munich.

In this tech-driven project a team of developers and one designer validated and implemented an MVP feature within an existing IT infrastructure using UX click dummies.

How might we ensure sufficient installation capacity and reduce the complexity of heat pump installations to make our client’s business more competitive in an increasingly fierce market?
In this intense sprint project a lean team of service designers co-created concepts for partnerships to mitigate the installation bottleneck.

In this research and strategy-oriented project, an interdisciplinary team analyzed the current workflows across sales and aftersales operations within a legacy IT system structure and identified opportunities to improve processes.

In this large-scale innovation project, a cross-company team from Claas, The Deep Bench and TU Dresden analyzed the human-machine interaction of combine harvesters and other agricultural machinery today and developed a vision for 2030.
